Start planning for our Royale Coach Club fall 2008 rally to be held in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico, "The Land of Enchantment", September 30th through October 6th, 2008. 

Begin with three days at Santa Fe Skies RV Resort with full hookups - great restaurants, entertainment, museums, art galleries, and time for shopping.

Then caravan to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park VIP parking (dry camping - see note above) for three days at the south end of the Balloon Park.  You will have daily access to the Balloon Park field and great views of the mass ascensions each morning.  There will be time for balloon rides and shopping for Balloon Fiesta memorabilia and breakfast burritos, plus time for San Dia Pueblo Casino and more.

New Mexico fall weather is usually brisk but beautiful.  The total number of coaches is limited to 35, so plan to register early. 

We hope to see many old friends and meet new club members here.

     Tuesday, September 30

Arrive at Santa Fe Skies RV Park and pick up your rally information packet.

Evening - Mexican Fiesta Dinner with a Mexican Buffet and Mariachi music.

Time to greet old friends and meet new friends.  BYOL

 

     Wednesday, October 1

Continental Breakfast at the RV Park.

Bus to downtown Santa Fe for a Trolley Tour of Santa Fe.

Lunch at Museum Hill.

Time to visit the museum of Indian Arts and Culture, International Folk Art Museum, and the Wheelwright Museum and Trading Post.

Return to RV Park or to the Santa Fe Plaza for shopping.

Evening - Dinner on your own.  We will supply a list of restaurants and help with reservations.

 

     Thursday, October 2

Continental Breakfast at the RV Park.

Spend the day in Santa Fe on your own.

Evening - Dinner at the historic La Fonda Hotel.  Mexican Guitars, Flamenco and Mexican Folk Dancing.  Cash Bar.

     Friday, October 3

Breakfast Burritos at the RV park.

Club Business Meeting.

Caravan to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park, VIP parking lot.

Evening - Pot Luck dinner with Buck and Nelda’s Famous Jambalaya.

 

     Saturday, October 4

Opening day of the Balloon Fiesta.  It’s fun to go to the balloon field early to eat junk food - breakfast burritos, pastries and other stuff. 

Rally fee includes tickets to the Balloon Field for all the day’s activities:

5:45 am            Dawn Patrol Show

6:45 am            Opening Ceremonies

7:00 am            Mass Ascension

8:00 am            Chainsaw Carving Championship

Noon               Wine Festival (separate admission required)

2:00 pm            Balloon race inflation

6:00 pm            Balloon race launch

6:00 pm            Twilight Twinkle Glow

8:00 pm            Fireworks

Balloon rides are a “Once in a Lifetime Experience” and can be scheduled Saturday or Sunday mornings.  The cost is $325 per person for an approximate 1-1/2 hour ride.  Must be scheduled in advance.

Evening - Mexican Buffet Dinner at the El Pinto Restaurant.  Cash Bar.

 

     Sunday, October 5

Coffee and treats at the McCollum’s bus. 

Balloon activities all day:

  5:45 am          Dawn Patrol Show

  7:00 am          Mass Ascension

  8:00 am          Chainsaw Carving Championship

  9:00 am          Fiesta of Wheels Car Show

11:00 am          Balloon Fiesta Pin Trading

Visit the vendors or take a scheduled balloon ride.

Evening - Dinner is on your own.

 

     Monday, October 6

Morning coffee and treats at the McCollum’s Bus

Time for goodbyes and then departures.
